Boris Bidian Saberi is a force to be reckoned with. Born in Russia, growing up in Spain, and honing his craft in Paris his stylized approach to design has seen this artist takes his unique vision of empowering the human form and encapsulating it into his creations.
His current collection showcasing at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year, took us on a journey to another world. The bare bone traveller ascetic, where nothing but the essentials remain is a re-current theme within this collection. True to form Saberi has stuck to his signature monochromatic color pallet, encasing the models in hats, form fitting pants, jackets and vests.
Saberi’s designs are all handcrafted with the finest organic fabrics, utilizing wool and cotton co-existing with inorganic elements such as vinyl and tar. His love of the human form as a symbol of empowerment and protection, is interwoven throughout his designs and is evident in his past collections, with one of his most exclusive creations; transparent leather painted with blood.
Saberi credits street & skate culture as his main influences in his designs. He maintains a couture feel, while sticking to his urban roots. And this is why he will always have a place in my heart.
