In New York City’s Versa, the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) recently hosted a cocktail party to kick off two significant fundraising events: the 20th Annual Hamptons Happening and the Step Up To Turn Off Cancer endurance event.

These events have been instrumental in SWCRF’s efforts, enabling them to invest over $120 million in collaborative cancer research programs worldwide. The Foundation’s funding has led to numerous breakthrough discoveries in the fight against cancer.

The event was attended by key figures including Dr. Samuel Waxman, CEO and Founder of SWCRF, along with this year’s Hamptons Happening honorees Arthur F. Backal and Cheri Kaufman. Notable guests included Stephen Kliegerman, Marion Waxman, and event chairs Mark D. Friedman and Jamie Koff.

The 20th Annual Hamptons Happening, slated for July 6th, 2024, at the Bridgehampton Estate of Kenneth and Maria Fishel, promises attendees a night of tastings from various chefs, restaurants, and beverage companies, all while raising funds for cancer research. More information can be found at waxmancancer.org/events/hamptons.

Meanwhile, the Step Up To Turn Cancer Off campaign encourages participants to increase their daily physical activity while fundraising for cancer research. The campaign includes a live, 3-mile run/walk at MetLife Stadium on June 22nd, led by NFL Hall of Famers Harry Carson, Joe Klecko, and Ottis Anderson. The evening concluded with a renewed sense of purpose as attendees pledged their support to these vital initiatives. With each contribution, the SWCRF and its supporters continue their mission to combat cancer and offer hope to those affected by the disease.
