New York City welcomes Helen Anthony for the first time to debut his Fall/Winter ‘19 unisex collection for New York Fashion Week. ‘Motions of Strength’ celebrates their first gender neutral collection bringing together vibrant colors and patterns from the East with architectural inspiration from the West.
Fine fabrics abound, incorporating Italian and British pure wools with embroidered velvets, cotton stripes and bold silks. Well tailored ensembles employ eastern cuts in outerwear, while oversized collars and elongated maxi and trench coats highlight Helen Anthony’s whimsical approach to proportion.
Creative director Naeem Anthony seeks to dissolve gender binaries and brings together Eastern/Western traditions and imagery with the goal of re-awakening an increasingly divided world. He says his collection finds its inspiration from his daughter who gives him patience, self-belief and most importantly strength. Overall, a dazzling array of colors, fabrics and textures secures this vision with unity and balance.
